What they all have in common is a deep desire for happiness, peace and love….
Here are some of the things that typically get in the way of them being happy, at peace and in love with themselves and life:
Do you recognise or believe any of these limiting beliefs?
- “I’m not good enough.”
- “I’ll never succeed.”
- “I don’t deserve it (a relationship, success, health etc).”
- “I am unlovable.”
- “There is something wrong with me.”
- “I am not [creative | clever | attractive] enough.”
How about these unresolved emotional issues from the past?
- Did you have an abusive childhood – all the way from absent or uncaring parents to being sexually, physically, or emotionally abused?
- Have you lost a loved one, either through death or a relationship coming to an end? If so, did you grieve it properly, and express your emotions or did you just shove it down either because it was too painful or because you weren’t allowed?
- Have you lived through a big trauma like 9/11, rape, being attacked, or a car crash?
Do you relate to these common every-day issues?
- Are you feeling the stress and anxiety of an unfulfilling career, financial pressure or simply having too many balls in the air?
- Do you procrastinate and put off your dreams until ‘one day’?
- Do you suffer from insomnia or constipation?
- Are you overweight, or experience food cravings?
- Do you suffer from depression, low energy or lack self-esteem?
Just because these issues are common that doesn’t mean you have to accept them as part of your life, does it?
Are any of these feelings overwhelming you or making life difficult for you and those around you?
- high anxiety or panic attacks
- anger & rage
- guilt
- shame
- sadness and grief
‘Feeling’ is part of being a human being; for example, if you lose a loved one then it is natural (and in my opinion, essential) that you allow yourself to experience and release these difficult emotions. EFT won’t stop you feeling, but it can help you to release old stuck emotions that still affect you today.
Do you experience any fears or phobias?
- Fear of public speaking – how is this affecting your career?
- Fear of heights – how is this affecting your day to day life?
- Fear of flying – how does this affect your holidays and travel?
- Fear of spiders, or open spaces, or public transport, or …?
The vast majority of people overcome fears and phobias very quickly with EFT. Do you want to continue letting it control you?
How are you around intimate relationships?
- Are you in a difficult relationship with your life partner?
- Are you afraid of intimacy? Do you confuse sex with intimacy?
- Are you having trouble relating to you children, parents, boss or colleagues?
- Do you attract the ‘wrong’ type of partner over and over again, or are you unable to attract a partner at all?
Only when your relationship with yourself is healthy, can you have healthy relationships with others. But then, you already knew that, didn’t you?
Are you healing from illness?
- Do you have chronic headaches, migraine or back-pain?
- Are you or someone close to you working through cancer, diabetes or heart disease?
- Are you recovering from an operation or an accident?
- Do you have tennis elbow or a frozen shoulder?
Even if there is physical evidence of disease in the body, EFT can help ease the symptoms and help you through the emotional side of things. Some clients believe that it did help them heal quicker, although EFT is not intended to diagnose or treat physical disease or illness.
